Either one works fairly well, but I have to have the volume on my Yamaha turned almost to MAX.... 12/02/2018 · OP, If you only want to use the phono preamp in the reciever, follow anorak2 suggestion. It should sound better than using the preamp section of the Marantz receiver.

Since posting, I have discovered that the AV receiver I want (Yamaha RX-V767) has pre-amp outs, so (if I have understood correctly) I can connect the front left and right pre-amp outs to the 112x pre-amp and the Dynaudios become my front surround speakers.
- 28/02/2014 · The output of the preamp is line level like a tape deck, CD player or tuner. Plug it into any line level input and it will be fine. Do NOT plug the preamp output into a 'phono' input as the gain and EQ will be major wrong.
